What IS Paws for a Cause?
Paws for a Cause is the Peninsula SPCA’s annual fundraiser to benefit homeless animals! This is a family-friendly festival with a dog walk. The festival is located in the Mariners’ Museum Park, Williams Fields, on Boundary Road across from Warwick High School. There will be more than 50 vendors, animal rescues with adoptable pets, and local organizations, as well as food, and a new expanded children’s area this year! Although festival goers do not need to participate in the dog walk to attend, it’s a fun thing to do! Dog walkers must register in advance and we ask that they fundraise prior to the event. This will ensure that the Peninsula SPCA will be able to continue to help animals in need.

Online Dog Walk Registration:
- August 22- September 14: Dog Walk registration: $15 per person
- T-shirts are pre-ordered so register now to guarantee a t-shirt in your size!
- Dog Walk Registration – day of event at the door: $25 per person
Dog Walk Registration is FREE for children 6 and under ($6 for child t-shirt)
Children must purchase a $2 wristband to participate in the children’s area.
**Participants are encouraged to register ahead of time to
ensure they receive a t-shirt in the proper size. **
Day-Of Fees at the Event:
- Dog Walk: $25 per person
- Festival General Admission Fee: $5 per person, or buy 3 and get 1 free!
- Children 6 & under are free (children’s area wristbands-$2)
- Exclusive Paws for a Cause t-shirt (at the event)
- Register in advance to ensure you receive a festival t-shirt in the proper size
- Goody bag filled with your fundraising prizes
- Free personal web page for your fundraising efforts – Visit our registration and fundraising page
- FREE admission to the festival
Paws for a Cause is a pledge-walk to help raise money for our community’s homeless animals at the Peninsula SPCA! When you register to walk, you also have the opportunity to raise money for the SPCA and win prizes!
Individual Fundraisers: When you register, you receive a free personal fundraising web page that you can customize and share with your friends, co-workers and family. In addition, we will send you a fundraising package to collect your cash donations. Cash donations will be collected in advance of the walk during PSPCA’s Bank Days at the shelter (September 14 & 15 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Individuals receive prizes based on the amount they raise as an individual:
$50 – $199: event t-shirt, stadium cup
$200 – $399: event t-shirt, stadium cup, tennis ball
$400 – $999: event t-shirt, stadium cup, tennis ball, rope Frisbee
$1,000+ : event t-shirt, stadium cup, rope Frisbee, entry into drawing for 2017 paws for a cause spokespet
Team Fundraisers: Individuals are encouraged to recruit their family and friends to register and form a team. Teams can be formed during the registration process. Prizes are awarded to the top 3 Fundraising Teams.

The Peninsula SPCA welcomes any local business or non-profit organization to set up a booth at Paws for a Cause. This event targets SPCA supporters and animals lovers from across the Peninsula. We love all of our fellow non-profits and rescues and we appreciate everything they do in our community, especially to help homeless animals! Non-profits can register to receive a free 10 X 10′ booth space at the Paws for a Cause event. Rescues may bring adoptable pets and information to distribute regarding their organization. NEW THIS YEAR is our Team Challenge for businesses! If you and your co-workers love animals, then this is a great teambuilding activity that also helps a great cause! AND, you can win lunch for your office, a pizza party at the PSPCA Petting Zoo, or an ice cream social!

Get started by registering for the Team Challenge by completing the business registration form above. Then register your individual team members at www.PeninsulaSPCA.org/PawsForACause. The pre-registration fee is only $10 per person. Then you are ready to start raising pledges today!
Proceeds from the event not only benefit the many animals sheltered and cared for at PSPCA, but also the many community resources and programs that PSPCA offers to the community, like the new Vaccination Clinic and our expanded Humane Education Programs that now include STEM programming, day camps and scout experiences. All money raised must be submitted no later than Thursday, September 15th. We will be announcing the winners of the team competitions at the event!
