Enter your favorite pet photo to win one of 12 coveted spots in the PSPCA’s 2019 Calendar!

This contest is open to everyone.  Your photo does not have to be of a pet adopted from the Peninsula SPCA.  All proceeds benefit the animals of the Peninsula SPCA!

SUBMISSIONS & VOTING

  • Submit your best pet photo to win a spot in the PSPCA 2019 calendar!  (CLICK HERE FOR SUBMISSION RULES AND PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS)
  • SHARE through e-mail and social media! Once you submit your photo, SHARE your pet’s page with friends and family asking them to vote for your pet!  Be sure to explain that their votes will help homeless pets in our community ($1 donation per vote).
  • Voting will run from July 23 – August 31.  So be sure to get the word out!

PRIZES:

The Top 12 pet photos who receive the most votes will be included with a full-month feature in the PSPCA’s 2019 calendar. The Top 12 winners will also be invited as our guest VIPs at the calendar launch event on November 3rd!

The winner with the most votes will win the grand prize including a full-month feature, front cover of the calendar, and tickets to the 2019 Fur Ball! 

RESERVE A DAY TO HONOR YOUR PET!

Reserve a day to honor your pet.  Your animal companion’s photo will appear on the day of your choice.  Just choose your favorite photo and then choose the day and pay!  First come first served!  Once a date has been reserved, it will no longer be available.  Each day is $15.

Rules

PHOTO ENTRIES:

  • Entry fee:  The entry fee is $20 per photo, which includes a free copy of the PSPCA’s 2018 calendar*.  There is not a limit on the number of photos that an individual can enter.  Submit as many as you like! *All local participants must pick up their calendars at the shelter.
  • Only photos of companion animals/pets will be accepted (for example; cats, dogs, horses, pocket pets, and birds qualify.  The dolphin you took a picture of on your summer vacation does not). Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from the Peninsula SPCA to be eligible to enter this contest. Photos may contain more than one pet AND can include people.
  • We cannot accept Polaroids, photos with digital overlays, Instagram-style or similarly filtered/altered images, photo stickers or doodles, or any copyrighted or professional photos.
  • Photos must be high resolution, at least 300 dpi and at least 1MB in size.  Photos should be horizontal (landscape) orientation and in .JPEG format.
  • Participants may only submit photos to which they have the rights to reproduce.  Once entered, photos become the property of the Peninsula SPCA to be used for print and marketing purposes.
  • Due to the nature of the contest, all entries must be submitted on-line.  We cannot accept photo submissions at the shelter or by mail.
  • Photo submission and voting will be simultaneous, from July 23 at 8:00 a.m. through August 31.  All entries and voting must be completed by August 31st (2018) at 9:00 p.m. ET.
  • Winners will be announced on Facebook and Twitter by September 7.   Winners will be contacted by e-mail (first) or phone (alternatively) in September.
  • Any image that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the staff of the Peninsula SPCA, will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser.

VOTING:

  • Once a photo is submitted, it will appear on the Pet Calendar Photo Contest website, and will be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each, with a minimum $5 donation for five votes.
  • All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online. There is no limit to the number of votes one may cast. You may vote for your own photo. Online voting begins as soon as the photo is registered and ends at 9 p.m. on August 31st.
  • ALL Proceeds benefit the animals of the Peninsula SPCA.

PRIZES:

  • Prizes will be determined by the on-line voting from July 23rd (8 a.m.) through August 31st  at 9 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded based on fundraising total.  A Grand prize will be awarded to the participant who receives the most votes.  The Top 12 photos will be used in the shelter’s 2019 Calendar – as full-month pages.  Photo placement will be at the discretion of staff based on orientation and design.
  • Participants selected as a full-page month winner may be notified and asked to provide a high resolution version of their photo, as well as a short biography of their pet, via email.

 

Prizes

Grand Prize: The Photo with the MOST votes will receive the Grand Prize:  Your pet’s photo will be featured on the cover of the PSPCA’s 2019 Calendar.  You also receive a full-month page featuring your pet’s photo.  Additionally, the Grand Prize winner will receive 2 human tickets and one pet ticket to the 2019 Fur Ball on March 9, 2019.

Calendars are $15 and all proceeds benefit the PSPCA!  Calendars will be available in November.
