DESCRIPTION:The Peninsula SPCA is celebrating 85 years of helping pets and people in Hampton Roads by hosting a special Open House Birthday Party on Saturday\, July 15th\, 2023\, from 12pm to 3pm.\n \nEnjoy cornhole\, participate in a scavenger hunt\, check out the new Dominion Energy Dog Enrichment Area\, as well as learn about the many community resources the PSPCA provides\, like the low-cost clinic\, Barnyard\, Humane Education programming\, and more! A small exhibit that highlights the Peninsula SPCA’s origin and varied history will also be on display for guests to see. \n \n🎁 Each guest will be treated to a goodie bag as well as tasty cupcakes while supplies last! \n🧁 Pupcakes for the shelter dogs! \n🥳 Fun birthday photos with barnyard favorites\, Starsky and Hutch\, PSPCA’s resident miniature donkeys! \n🎟 Every visitor will get a free raffle ticket for Chewy and Care-a-Lot gift baskets! \n Bring a donation of dog/cat food (Purina or Pedigree preferred) and get FREE admission to our Petting Zoo! \n  \n“We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate 85 years of helping the Peninsula’s pets and people. It is amazing to see how the organization has evolved over the years\, from its humble beginnings in 1938\, when a small group of animal lovers created the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  That one act of kindness has grown into the organization we are today\, with the help of many board members\, executive directors\, staff\, volunteers\, and community support along the way.  We are celebrating this milestone with\, and for\, all of them and the many pets and community members we helped over the last eight-and-a-half decades.” – Megan Steele\, Peninsula SPCA’s Executive Director \nPlease carpool if you can.
