DESCRIPTION:Every pet deserves a safe\, comfortable place to rest while they wait for their forever home. However\, during the coldest part of winter\, our heating and air conditioning system failed\, and we had to run temporary\, portable heaters that are very costly. Looking ahead to the hot summer months\, we have an urgent need for a complete replacement of our HVAC system as soon as possible. We need to raise $310\,000 by mid-May to be able to restore heat and AC to our cat and dog kennels. \nThis is an emergency situation\, and we need your help! \nA friend to the animals and the Peninsula SPCA\, Shelley Fink-Brackett\, has pledged a donation match of $10\,000 during Give Local 757\, which means all donations up to $10\,000 raised during Give Local will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar\, doubling the impact you can make!   \nIf we hit our goal of $15\,000 for Give Local\, we will have raised all of the remaining funds to cover the cost of replacing our HVAC system! \n Did you know that the Peninsula SPCA relies solely on community donations to operate? \nWe are a private\, nonprofit\, “adoption-guarantee” or no-kill animal shelter that is not affiliated with the ASPCA or other national organizations. Thanks to the support of animal lovers like you\, we have become a safety net for the Peninsula’s most vulnerable pets\, taking in pets whose owners could no longer care for them and reducing euthanasia in over-crowded shelters through our transfer program. Over the last 5 years\, 4\,894 pets got the second chance they deserved through these services alone. In this past year\, the Peninsula SPCA has saved over 1\,100 lives\, performed over 1\,300 spay/neuter surgeries\, and vaccinated more than 750 pets. In addition\, PSPCA continues to expand our humane education offerings\, reaching over 6\,500 students and families in 2024. The Peninsula SPCA devotes its time and resources to finding forever homes for the animals in our care and to and to advocate for the humane treatment of all animals in our community. This organization receives no public funding and relies on the community for support to keep the benefit of an adoption-guarantee shelter alive for the Virginia Peninsula community’s citizens and pets. \nBy supporting the Peninsula SPCA you are truly Giving Local! \nGive Now

DESCRIPTION:Giving Tuesday\, a global day of giving following Back Friday and Cyber Monday\, is an opportunity for the community to take a moment from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season to celebrate generosity and the gift of giving back. \nThe Peninsula SPCA saves over 1\,000 pets in our community every year by providing shelter\, medical care\, and finding forever homes. Adoption fees only cover a small portion of these costs when caring for our shelter pets\, with medical care being by far the largest expense we face. In fact\, the Peninsula SPCA spends more than $100\,000 on medical care for shelter pets every year. This year especially\, the Peninsula SPCA spent an additional $20\,000 on testing and treatments when canine influenza closed our kennels for over 4 months. For Giving Tuesday\, we’re asking for your help to raise funds to cover the medical care expenses we are facing. \nThis year on Giving Tuesday\, we are asking for your help to provide much needed medical care to pets who come to us in need. ​​​​​​We are committed to the health and happiness of all animals that come to the Peninsula SPCA\, and we need your help to continue to provide this level of care. Stay tuned – more details to come. \nDid you know that the Peninsula SPCA relies solely on community donations to operate? \nWe are a private\, nonprofit\, “adoption-guarantee” or no-kill animal shelter that is not affiliated with the ASPCA or other national organizations. Thanks to the support of animal lovers like you\, we have become a safety net for the Peninsula’s most vulnerable pets\, taking in pets whose owners could no longer care for them and reducing euthanasia in over-crowded shelters through our transfer program. The Peninsula SPCA devotes its time and resources to finding forever homes for the animals in our care and to and to advocate for the humane treatment of all animals in our community. This organization receives no public funding and relies on the community for support to keep the benefit of an adoption-guarantee shelter alive for the Virginia Peninsula community’s citizens and pets. \nBy supporting the Peninsula SPCA you are truly Giving Local!

DESCRIPTION:Our 3rd annual Tailgate festival will be on Saturday\, May 16\, 1pm-5pm\, at Mill Point Park along Downtown Hampton’s beautiful waterfront. This outdoor festival brings animal lovers and their pets together for one afternoon of fun\, frolic\, live music\, and refreshing beverages all to support the pets & programs of the Peninsula SPCA. \nAttendees can vote for their favorite local restaurant in our Summer Sipper Challenge sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka\, enjoy live music by Fine Swiss Cheese on the Woofstock Stage\, shop local vendors\, participate in PSPCA’s Small Dog Dash\, enjoy the Tailgate Talent show for dogs – all skill levels accepted\, play giant yard games\, win raffle prizes and more! It’s a great time for everyone in the family\, including pets\, all raising money for animals in need! \nTickets on sale soon! \n  \n  \n   \nInterested in being a sponsor\, vendor\, or volunteer?
