Australian Shepherd Dogs

UPDATE: we are no longer accepting applications. We have reviewed application submissions and are making foster placements. Thanks to everyone who responded.

We are currently in possession of four ADULT Australian Shepherd dogs that were recently rescued by our partner HSUS from a situation in Roxboro, North Carolina. Due to the breed and overwhelming interest, we will be conducting an application process and screening applicants in order to make appropriate matches for forever homes.

PLEASE NOTE: These dogs will need to be fostered for approximately 30-60 days prior to adoption and fosters MUST RESIDE in the HAMPTON ROADS area due to our animal custody protocols.

Please complete this online application if: 1) you would like to be considered as an adopter for one of the Aussies and 2) If you are a Hampton Roads resident.

We will only accept the first 50 online applications. Completing an application does not guarantee you will be selected to adopt. Once applications are approved, applicants will be drawn at random to hold a meet n’ greet. Peninsula SPCA has the final decision on who will be invited to adopt.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SHELTER. We have been inundated with inquiries and it is preventing us from helping other guests in the shelter.
