Camp Policies

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your registration more than 14 days prior to the start of your registered camp session, your registration fee will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee.  If you cancel your registration less than 14 days prior to the start of your registered camp session, no refund will be given.

If space is available, campers may transfer their registration to another camp session of the same age group at no charge. Cancelled registrations cannot be applied to registration the following year, nor are they transferable to other participants.

In the event that a camp session is cancelled by the Peninsula SPCA, all registration fees will be refunded in full.

Time with Shelter Animals

While shelter animals are an important part of our camps, time in the shelter will be limited and closely monitored. Campers will have daily opportunities for contact with a variety of animals, including shelter animals and visiting guests, but should not expect to spend significant amounts of time with animals waiting for adoption.

Participant Behavior

While at Critter Camp, campers are expected to treat all campers, PSPCA staff, and animals with respect and compassion. Behavior guidelines will be reviewed with campers on the first day of each camp session. Campers who are consistently unable to follow these guidelines may be asked to leave camp for the day, or may be dismissed for the remainder of the session. No refunds will be given for campers who are dismissed for behavioral reasons.

Camper Cell Phone Use

Campers who bring cell phones with them will only be permitted to use the phone to contact their parent in case of an emergency.  Calling or texting during camp activities will not be permitted.

Zero Tolerance

We have zero tolerance for fighting or using an object as a weapon. Likewise the use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco is strictly prohibited. Violation for these policies is grounds for immediate dismissal. No refunds will be given for campers dismissed for violation of these policies.
