On Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the grand ballroom at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, the SPCA will host our 7th Annual Fur Ball. This lively red carpet event attracts more than 320 humans and 65 pet guests and it is our largest fundraising event for the year. Yes, your pets are even invited and they can come dressed to the nines flaunting their red bow-ties or pearls as they strut, stroll or trot down the red carpet during the main attraction of the evening – the Pet Parade! Our guests enjoy an evening of dining and dancing, seeing all the wonderful pets and delighting in their antics, and bidding on the donated silent and live auction items, all to benefit and provide relief for homeless cats and dogs.
This year is a special one for our shelter’s history; it will be our first event during our transition to “Adoption Guarantee” or “no-kill” shelter. We will now be able to devote our time and resources to our core goal of finding new homes for every animal in our care. The future of the Peninsula’s homeless pets will be brighter than ever, with both a new municipal shelter and the Peninsula SPCA to care for their needs. But as of Spring 2014, the Peninsula SPCA will no longer receive any funding from our local municipalities, and will rely totally on you, our community, to support our lifesaving mission. With your help, we hope to reach our goal of $175,000 which is to ensure these animals are well cared for in the upcoming year. With your ticket purchase, you will help support our lifesaving mission! Purchase tickets here.
